Metapex Calcium Hydroxide Filling Material

Metapex is a radiopaque calcium hydroxide paste containing iodoform, used as a temporary root canal filling material. The calcium hydroxide provides antibacterial properties and promotes hard tissue formation, while the iodoform enhances its antibacterial action and radiopacity, making it easily visible on radiographs. Metapex is pre-mixed and supplied in a syringe for easy and direct application into the root canal. It is commonly used in procedures such as apexification, apexogenesis, treatment of infected root canals, and as an interim dressing after pulpectomy, aiming to disinfect the canal and promote healing before permanent obturation.
